Terms of use
Last updated October 13, 2026
The basics
By using Brightspace D2L MCP Server you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
What it is
The project lets AI apps read your own D2L Brightspace data and sends you alerts about it. It's an independent project and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by D2L Corporation or your school.
Your responsibilities
- Use it only with your own Brightspace account.
- Follow your school's rules, including its acceptable use and academic integrity policies. You're responsible for how you use the information and any AI output.
- Don't try to break, overload or misuse the service, or use it to access anyone else's data.
Subscriptions
- New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel during the trial, it's $4 CAD a month (plus any applicable tax), billed monthly through Stripe until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime from "Manage your subscription" on the billing page. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't give partial refunds for unused time, but if something went wrong, contact us and we'll make it right.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change.
- The app runs on your own computer, so alerts only arrive while it's on and signed in to Brightspace.
No guarantees
The service is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but Brightspace data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and the service may have downtime. Always check important deadlines and grades in Brightspace itself. We aren't responsible for missed deadlines, grades, or decisions made from the information shown.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to what you paid in the 3 months before the claim.
Ending access
You can stop using the service at any time. We can suspend accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and Pro users get an email about significant changes.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
